 # Privacy Policy

RedfleetStudios built the Scan app as a free app. This SERVICE is provided by RedfleetStudios

at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and

disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use my Service.

If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in

relation to this policy. The Personal Information that I collect is used for providing and

improving the Service. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described

in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meaning as in the Terms and Conditions,

which are accessible within the Scan app, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

## Information Collection and Use

Scan does not require an account and does not ask you to provide any personal information to

use it.

- **Camera:** Scan requests access to your device's camera only so it can scan QR codes and

  barcodes. Camera frames are processed entirely on your device and are never recorded, stored,

  or uploaded.

- **Photos:** When you choose to scan a code from an image, you pick that single image yourself

  through the system picker. The image is decoded on your device and is not uploaded or kept by

  the app.

- **Scan and generate history:** The codes you scan and generate — which can include links,

  WiFi network names and passwords, contact details, and calendar events — are stored only in a

  private, local database on your device. I never see them, and they are never uploaded to any

  server I operate. History is also excluded from Android's cloud backup and device-to-device

  transfer, so it stays on your device unless you choose to share or save a code yourself.

- **Saving and sharing:** Generated codes are only saved to a location you choose, or shared

  with an app you choose, when you explicitly tap save or share.

Code detection uses Google ML Kit's barcode scanning, which runs on-device; the content of the

codes you scan is not sent to Google or anyone else. The app's own code collects no analytics.

The app uses one third-party service that may collect information used to identify you: Google

AdMob, to show ads (banner, interstitial, and optional rewarded ads). Internet access is used

only for this purpose. Scan does not use Facebook or any other third-party SDK for tracking.

## Log Data

Scan's own code does not collect log data. However, the third-party ad service (Google AdMob)

used by the app may collect data such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address,

device information, and general usage signals when it serves ads, governed by Google's own

privacy policy linked above. I don't have access to or control over what Google collects for

this purpose beyond configuring the ad units themselves.

## Cookies

This Service does not use cookies explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code (Google

AdMob) that relies on similar technologies, such as advertising identifiers, to collect

information and improve their services. You can opt out of personalized advertising through

your device's ad settings.

## Service Providers

I may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following reasons:

- To facilitate our Service (Google AdMob, to show ads);

- To provide the Service on our behalf;

- To perform Service-related services; or

- To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

I want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to information

necessary to perform the tasks assigned to them (serving ads) on my behalf. They are obligated

not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

## Security

I value your trust in providing me your information, thus I strive to use commercially

acceptable means of protecting it. Because everything you scan and generate stays on your

device rather than on a server I control, the practical exposure is limited to your own

device's security. Remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and I cannot

guarantee its absolute security.

## Links to Other Sites

This Service may open links contained in codes you scan, but only when you choose to open them.

It also shows ads served through Google AdMob, which are not operated by me. If you open a

scanned link or tap an ad, you may be directed to a third-party site or app. I strongly advise

you to review the privacy policy of these external sites, as I have no control over and assume

no responsibility for their content, privacy policies, or practices.

## Children's Privacy

This Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally

identifiable information from children under 13. Because Scan collects no personal information

as part of its own functionality, this risk is limited to what Google's ad services may do;

treat this as a starting point rather than a compliance guarantee for an under-13 audience.

## Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page

periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by updating the "effective as

of" date below and posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and within the app.

This policy is effective as of September 23, 2026.
